LEVELING
This roleplay isn't like the video games, where you earn experience points to level up. All you have to do is post. You gain a level for every 20 posts you make, just like the money system, the more you post, the more levels you advance.
In this game, battles are roleplayed out. When you are in a dungeon with others, fighting monsters, your stats mean nothing. The only time you really use your assigned stats is when you fight other players, either in the world or in the arena, where you need a battle template. I have designed a stat system to demonstrate your classes progression. Skills will only help your stats. You will keep learning skills until your mid-twenties, until I update them, so you will have plenty to do. To further that, at a rate of 20 posts per level, it will take you 100 posts to grow to level 5. I know that may seem like slow leveling, but believe me, if you are active in the OOC boards and roleplaying, you will level up quicker than you know. Unlike other .hack websites, I have created a number of roleplaying boards, not just single board servers so it feels like roleplay. You will have no problem getting stronger.
To aid you in your battles, I have added stores to get weapons, armor, accessories, and items to help you get stronger. In each shop, there will be a display of the items and what they can do for you. So, without further ado, let's break down stat points and leveling up.
All classes start out with the following stats:
HP: 200 // Health Points (determines stamina)
SP: 100 // Skill Points (determines max skill use)
ATK: 20 // Attack (determines strength)
DEF: 20 // Defense (determines physical defense)
INT: 20 // Intelligence (determines spell damage)
RES: 20 // Resistance (determines magic defense)
Upon creation, your character has 60 points that you can distribute between at least three different stats. You can pick how much, but make sure you have given points to at least, but not limited to, three different stats.
Here are the stats each class will gain when they level up:
Adept Rogue
The thing you must know about an adept rogue is that they can pick what class/weapon they start out with first. So, if the adept rogue decides to go with blade brandier, he gains the level up stats of that class along with the adept rogue +1 level stats native to this class. Here are the base adept rogue leveling stats:
HP+5, SP+5, ATK +1, DEF +1, +other class stats
Twin Blade
HP+20, SP+15, ATK+2, DEF+1, INT+1, RES+1
Blade Brandier
HP+25, SP+15, ATK+2, DEF+1, INT+1, RES+1
Tribal Grappler
HP+30, SP+10, ATK+3, DEF+1, INT+1, RES +1
Edge Punisher
HP+35, SP+15, ATK+4, DEF+3, INT+1, RES+1
Lord Partizan
HP+30, SP+15, ATK+5, DEF+3, INT+1, RES+1
Steam Gunner
HP+25, SP+15, ATK+2, DEF+1, INT+1, RES+2
Flick Reaper
HP+30, SP+15, ATK+3, DEF+1, INT+1, RES+1
Harvest Cleric
HP+15, SP+30, ATK+1, DEF+1, INT+3, RES+2
Shadow Warlock
HP+15, SP+30, ATK+1, DEF+1, INT+4, RES+2
Any items, weapons, and armor you buy will also add a certain amount of points.
Again, you will only use these stats when fighting other characters and participating in the area. You will be responsible for updating your save file with this information. When you post in a thread where you are battling another player or in the area, make sure you insert your stats at the top of your post, and keep updating in every post as your stats lower.
HOW TO CALCULATE DAMAGE
It really is simple. If you are performing a physical attack, take your physical attack stat and multiply it by 2, then subtract the defense stat of your enemy. The solution to that problem will be the damage you deal. The same applies to magical attacks, but you swap attack and defense for intelligence and resistance. If you use an item to boost any of these stats, know that it only lasts for that battle unless it is a text you get from certain quests. You are again responsible for updating your stats if you use that kind of item.
WAVES
Waves, or elements, are another attribute to watch. If you are hit with a magic attack that is of the opposite element of yours, it adds +5 to the enemies intelligence stat, causing you more damage!
Well, are you ready to battle? Remember these rules!
REMEMBER: YOU ONLY USE STATS WHEN FIGHTING OTHER PLAYERS IN AND OUT OF THE ARENA!
